You will need to configure your computer to connect to the campus wireless network. To do so, follow the instructions that came with your wireless NIC, and enter "moobilenet" (all lower case) as your SSID in your wireless card configurations window.

Follow these steps to connect to moobilenet:
  1. Launch a Web browser or click a link in a document.
  2. If your browser homepage, or the link you clicked, is SSL (https://), you will need to use a different URL to begin your wireless session. Read more about SSL wireless issues.
  3. You will be automatically redirected to theUC Davis Secure Login Web page (see screen shot of pop-up window). Enter your LoginID and Password and press the "Login" button. Enter the same information that you have used to connect to the wireless network in the past. Wireless access is granted to any UC Davis campus affiliate with a valid UCD Login ID and Kerberos password.
  4. After you have logged in, a window will appear that confirms your connection to the wireless network.
  5. Bluesocket provides a logout browser pop-up window to speed up the logout process (see screen shot of pop-up window). This window is not required to logout of the wireless network.

    • If you have pop-ups enabled on your laptop, you will see a screen in the lower right side of your screen that says "bluesocket - Click to Logout". Click the "Click to Logout" window ONLY when you are done accessing the Internet. If you choose, you may minimize or even close this box without affecting your connection.
    • If you do not have pop-ups enabled in your browser, you will not see the pop-up logout window. You will still be able to connect and log out of the wireless network without the bluesocket logout window. The benefit to using this window to log out is that a wireless connection is available to other users immediately.
  6. You will be automatically directed to a Web page confirming your wireless connection, with links to the Web page you wanted to visit (or your browser's home page) and to the wireless networking information Web page.
  7. If you have any problems, please contact the IT Help Desk at ithelp@ucdavis.edu or 754-HELP (4357).
