Wireless Networking : Guest Access

Sponsor a UC Davis Wireless Guest Access Account

UC Davis faculty and staff may sponsor temporary wireless accounts for campus guests.
A wireless guest account can have access to Moobilenet (SSID: moobilenet) for up to seven (7) days at a time, with a maximum of 30 days per guest. You may initially establish a guest account to remain active for 1-7 days, and you may renew the guest account again as needed.

Setting up a wireless guest account is easy! Follow these steps:
  1. To begin, review the Campus Wireless Networking Policy so you are aware of the policies by which you and your guest must abide.
  2. Next, visit the Guest Account Sign-up page and enter your UCD Login ID and Kerberos password when prompted.
  3. Create a guest account, and an email confirmation will be sent to both you and your guest.
  4. Once you and your guest receive the confirmation email, the guest can connect to Moobilenet.
Note: At this time, guest wireless network users may not access MoobilenetX, the secure wireless network.

Account Holder Responsibilities
As a guest account holder, you are responsible for complying with the following policies, which govern the use of computers and networks on the UC Davis campus:

Your guest wireless account may be revoked for any violation of these campus policies. Reinstating a revoked account could take a week or more.

Please be aware that wireless traffic is susceptible to unauthorized interception and take appropriate precautions while using the campus wireless network to reduce your risk of exposure.
