The RAP-5 is a desktop access point device designed to fill gaps in wireless coverage for a low installation cost. The RAP-5 requires access to a power receptacle, utilizes a multi-VLAN configuration, and is designed to work with an existing 100 Mb connection that may already be in use in support of another network device such as a desktop computer. While the RAP-5 is easy to install, it is not mobile. It will only work on the specific NAM you indicate during the request process. It will support Moobilenet, Moobilenetx, and Eduroam on the campus wireless network while at the same time allowing your departmental VLAN to support your existing network device. Besides providing additional wireless coverage, the RAP-5 has 4 additional data ports configured on your existing departmental VLAN for connection of other network devices.
